These standard bayonet bulbs are increasingly hard to find and as a result becoming pretty expensive. Four stars in each category because of cost and because a couple of the bulbs had some discoloration at the base - but work fine.

This lamp provides a nice bright light for our kitchen which is dimmable. So we can have exactly the right light level for what we are doing and the time of day..

These bulbs, made by a subsidiary of General Electric, aren't cheap, but I'm pretty confident they'll last a good long time. Also, they have Ballotini fuses built in to them - googling for this, I learned that these are the best, most expensive type of built-in fuse for an incandescent bulb. The Ballotini fuse ensures that if the bulb fails in use, it won't explode, making this General Electric bulb safer and less of a fire risk than some cheaper options.

First bulb looked a bit dodgy but I put it in the holder anyway. Then it blew my circuit breaker, and the glass crashed down to the floor, making a nice mess of my living room. Cleared up all the broken glass, then put the 2nd one in. Same thing happened. This is no joke, because its not all that easy to remove the broken bulb remnant from the bulb holder, once all you have left is a piece of metal with live terminals exposed inside. However, on the plus side, I told BLT and they resolved the problem to my satisfaction.

We light our reading room with two big pedestal lamps with dimmers and this enables us to vary when we have a full 150W so we are still careful about usage. BLT direct are the best supplier we have found and the bulbs always arivve within 2 to 3 days after order. We fully recommend them.

Lamps were well packed. Rough service lamps sent instead of standard GLS.
