The click on/off function gives a 'slow' star effect of approx 1 - 2 seconds. If you\'re used to flicking a light on as you walk into a room, you\'ll find yourself hesitating for a moment while it increases in brightness. I tried several of the different mode settings. However I found that it didn\'t quite reach 100% brightness compared to a straight switch. Also it can make ordinary bulbs \'whistle\' at high frequency which is noticeable if you\'re used to a quiet room for reading or listening to music. The flush surface plate look nice, but it\'s critical to get the back box fitted square and flush with the plasterboard. Whereas normal light fittings have some \'wiggle room\' to line up the fascia plate and provide a clean appearance on the wall, the clip-on plate will just ping off if the back box is even 1mm proud somewhere.
